These are new upgrade kits for PASGT helmets. The kit includes a new chinstrap, hardware, pads and new hook field stickers for installation. The pads are the most significant upgrade in the kit, with two layers the pads offer upgraded comfort and protection. The helmet strap is compatible with a standard ACH with the included hardware.
Jun 16, 2016· Looking to upgrade the chin strap and padding in my helmet. As it stands now, it has the issued leather sweat band and nylon gear. It fits my dome pretty good right now but would like it a little more comfortable and stable if this is possible.
Jun 01, 2012· Just remember that when the PASGT and its 2 point chin strap were worn by parachutists, they usualy added one pad and a strap to stabilize the helmet on the head. The 3-point and 4-point chin straps permit to avoid any additional strap / pad and offer a perfect stabilization.

Dec 13, 2009· We would recommend that as a minimum upgrade to older PASGT helmets. Either way, there is one upgrade to vintage PASGTs that is mandatory to keep the helmet secure, and prevent bobbing of the helmet when you are moving. The MICH helmet has a pad suspension system, instead of the strap/headband type found in the PASGT and in this Canadian helmet (shown in the previous photos). The pad configuration can be adjusted to fit the individual, as pads can be re-arranged, added, or removed to tailor the fit to the individual's head.
Jul 13, 2009· I use a PASGT on a Bell skateboard helmet. I didn't modify or improve the the Bell chinstrap. I pass the nape strap through the rear metal bracket of the PASGT and the green canvas bit fits around my chin. Works great. I've worn it for up to 4 hours with good function and good comfort.

Apr 08, 2021· Going through some of my kit and decided to upgrade my helmets, one an old Pasgt and the other a standard ACH. Things I really disliked about each. The Pasgt retention system sucks, and gave me a headache after a while, and the chinstrap allowed just a little too much wobble. The ACH was okay, as long as the pads didn't get old and wet and turn into bricks, necessitating new pads.
